STUDENT LIFE Off-CAMPUS LIFE OF GLS STUDENTS

Clubs & After School

After School Activities

The student council and other student groups arrange a variety of activities throughout the year. Meeting students during these and your day-to-day classes opens a wide variety of opportunities to interact both on and off campus. Feel free to fit in wherever you like.

Fellowship of World Cultures(FWC)

The School of Global Studies hosts FWC, which was established to assist students of the GLS major to better integrate into the Chukyo student body and Japanese society as a whole, to create a more conducive environment in which international and domestic students might interact and explore one another’s cultures, and to broaden Chukyo’s international capabilities as long-term goal.

FWC provides mentorships for international students regarding questions about daily life in Japan and student life, along with organizing events for international and domestic students to interact with one another, where together, they propose solutions to internationalization issues found in Chukyo University’s media and facilities.

Clubs

Chukyo has over 40 sports clubs that you can compete in. Chukyo is renowned for its sports programs, producing numerous champions and several Olympians. In addition to sports activities Chukyo hosts over 20 clubs and student associations, from drama, music, and culture to art and manga.

Out on the Town

Nagoya City is a unique experience for international students. Nagoyans exemplify Japan’s renowned sense of courtesy toward visitors but also a curiosity that makes for some great opportunities to deeply interact with the community. While by no means unaware of the outside world, Nagoya takes a strong pride in its Japaneseness. An unfiltered look into what Japanese culture and society is truly like.

Sharing Culture

Chukyo also holds a variety of intercultural events throughout the year to strengthen the bonds between international students and the native Japanese students here at Chukyo.
There is something for everyone!
