Abstract ：
This is the survey paper which will be included in the forthcoming book, “The Economics of International Immigration” as Chapter 1. In Section 1, we review the world migration history and recent trends of labor mobility in Asian areas. In Section 2, we show several special subjects about economic theory of international migration. Section 3 is devoted to the brief introduction to the following 14 Chapters.
